Team General

Thanks to all that work on the Ford Sponsorship application, we have been successful and our FRC team is officially sponsored by Ford Motor Company. This mean $3000 that they will paid on our behalf to FIRST for our registration fee. It also open scholarship applications for our seniors. More to come as we get more info.

We are waiting for confirmation on the FTC Sponsorship. As soon as we find out we will share with everyone!

Woodworker needed!

We need to build adjustable dividers for the workbench drawers. This will allow us to store all kits and spare parts more effectively.

If you know someone that is interested in helping out that has the skills and the tools to build what we need, have them call Coach Seb.

Build / CAD Sub Team

Drive Chassis

All material have been ordered and received. They are in a yellow bin located by the workbench. Check with Coach Matt on proper build method.

Particle Picker / Particle Storage

Start to look good. Continue experiment with brushes to pick the particle. Don’t forget we have 18″ max on every direction. No rules that prevent drive system for particle pickup to be higher.

Storage may be tricky. Rodney had a great idea on the shooter being mounted at the end of the storage area. Keep in mind that we need to shoot both corner and center vortex. We can easily incorporate servos to control particles path and where they go as we now understand how to program them. Ideas of using a conveyor belt with tank thread can also be considered  as needed.

Tilt mechanisms servo and gearbox was also ordered and received. They are in a box by the workbench. Check with Coach Tony. For reference, use figure #34 on this link https://www.servocity.com/actobotics-attachment-ideas.

Particle Shooter

Could be at the end of the storage or on the side. Spring steel has been drilled and it is ready to be mounted. Keep in mind that we should have consideration for adjusting the flicker stop in both vertical and horizontal direction as we will have to experiment.

be extremely careful with the spring steel, it is very sharp and will cut you! Consider putting some tapes around the edges…

Programming / Electrical

We have our first Java program up and running!!!!

We created our first autonomous program this weekend. Focus should be to make a list of the needed program for the different scenario we will have. For example, we may have position 1 and position 2 and then go after the cap ball or potentially the beacon…

A Trello board will be developed shortly to list what needs to be done in the next few months in preparation to the upcoming season in January.
